Приглашаем Вас принять участие в конференции
«Проблемы дипломатики, кодикологии и актовой археографии»,
которая проводится кафедрой источниковедения и вспомогательных исторических дисциплин Историко-архивного института РГГУ, Отделом специальных исторических дисциплин ИВИ РАН и Археографической комиссией РАН 26 ― 28 января 2012 г.
На обсуждение выносятся следующие проблемы:
– Дипломатика в системе современного гуманитарного знания
– Кодикология как историческая дисциплина и перспективы ее развития
– Источниковедение, текстология и археография: взаимосвязи и взаимодействие
– Проблемы классификации актовых источников
– Проблемы публикации актовых источников
– Проблемы изучения рукописных книг и их каталогизации
– Историография дипломатики, кодикологии, археографии
– Актовые источники в изучении социальной истории
На конференции пройдет круглый стол по теме:
«Археография в системе современного гуманитарного образования»
Тезисы сообщений (отредактированный и вычитанный текст в формате MS Word DOC, OpenOffice.org Writer ODT или RTF объемом не более 6 000 знаков с учетом пробелов) принимаются по электронной почте (ivid.konf@gmail.com) строго по 30 сентября 2011 г.
При оформлении тезисов просьба: не набирать заголовок в режиме Caps Lock, ссылки помещать внутри текста в круглых скобках (подстрочные и затекстовые ссылки будут автоматически вырезаны), не использовать таблиц, диаграмм и т.п., не устанавливать отступов табуляцией или пробелом, избегать использования букв с диакритиками, не пользоваться специальными шрифтами.
После текста тезисов необходимо поместить информацию об авторе (ФИО полностью, ученая степень и звание, место работы и должность, почтовый адрес и телефон, адрес электронной почты для переписки). В теме письма просьба указать «Конференция 2012».

Международная конференция посвященная 40-летию музея-заповедника «Старая Ладога» «Старая Ладога – феномен русской истории и культуры»
В 2011 г. исполняется 40 лет музею-заповеднику «Старая Ладога». Выросший из небольшого краеведческого музея с одной экспозицией в ведущее учреждение культуры Ленинградской области музей-заповедник приглашает специалистов в истории, археологии, реставрации, искусствознании, культурологи, управлении музеями на юбилейную конференцию для подведения итогов и определения перспектив развития и модернизации музея-заповедника. Коллекции музея-заповедника имеют сегодня общероссийскую и мировую известность, высококлассный коллектив специалистов музея-заповедника востребован в научном и культурном пространстве современной России. В конференции предполагается участие 50 ученых, деятелей культуры, музейных менеджеров из России и других стран.
Основные темы, предлагаемые обсудить на конференции:
1. Музей-заповедник «Старая Ладога»: история и современность
2. Деревянная Русь: уникальность археологического культурного слоя Старой Ладоги

Приглашаем Вас принять участие в международной научной конференции «Лицевой Летописный Свод царя Ивана IV Грозного как ключевой документ московской историографии и книжного искусства в период между поздним Средневековьем и ранним Новым временем и его место в европейском контексте»
Насколько велико значение Лицевого Летописного Свода (ЛЛС) как центрального памятника историографии и книжного искусства времен царствования Ивана IV, настолько же мало он был доступен для широкого круга исследователей – единственная рукопись ЛЛС 1568-1576 гг., содержащая 17000 иллюстраций, до сих пор разбросана по различным библиотекам России. В результате исследованием ЛЛС до настоящего времени занималась в основном русскоязычная медиевистика. Соответственно этому ЛЛС оставался малоизвестным за пределами круга историков по Восточной Европе, занимающихся историей Московского государства, и не фигурировал в культурно-исторических исследованиях общеевропейской культуры. В то же время исследовательские подходы и методы, которые были разработаны западными специалистами по позднему Средневековью и раннему Новому времени, еще недостаточно применялись к изучению ЛЛС. Поэтому опубликованное надавно факсимильное издание ЛЛС открывает совершенно новые возможности для его изучения, особенно для западных исследователей.
Важным импульсом для исследовательской деятельности в этой области должна стать данная конференция. Поводом к ее проведению является приобретение факсимильного издания ЛЛС Баварской государственной библиотекой. Целью конференции является встреча российских, восточноевропейских и западных коллег для обмена опытом, получения новых знаний и разработки инновационных подходов с учётом следующих трёх аспектов. Во-первых, анализ ЛЛС как источника, ключевого для понимания эпохи царя Ивана IV Грозного, может принести новые познания. Во-вторых, вследствие большого количества иллюстраций в ЛЛС предполагается уделить особое внимание отношению между миниатюрами и текстом, что важно как для исследования самого ЛЛС, так и для решения методологических вопросов и изучения европейской культуры на рубеже позднего Средневековья и Нового времени в целом. Третий, до сих пор мало учитываемый, но очень важный аспект касается рассмотрения ЛЛС в общеевропейском культурно-историческом контексте, что поможет прояснить вопрос о том, насколько Московское государство уже в XVI веке являлось неотъемлемой частью общеевропейского культурного пространства. Таким образом, целью конференции является междисциплинарный, культурологический подход к теме, т.е. конференция должна включать в себя не только исторические исследования, но и учитывать точку зрения искусствоведения, визуальных наук, исследований в области медиа, кодикологии, палеографии, книговедения и языкознания. Все заинтересованные коллеги приглашаются принять участие в конференции и внести свой вклад в исследование ЛЛС, Московского государства времен царствования Ивана IV и европейской культуры на пороге Нового времени.
Желающих принять участие в конференции просим к 15 марта 2011 г. прислать тему и краткие тезисы выступления объемом до 1 страницы. Время выступления – не более 20 минут. Рабочие языки конференции – немецкий, английский и русский. По итогам проведения конференции планируется публикация сборника с текстами докладов. В случае необходимости расходы на проезд и проживание участников конференции из России, из Беларуси и с Украины могут быть возмещены. This conference will examine the nexus of religion, gender, identity,
human rights and politics with a particular focus on Europe in a
context of globalisation. It will fill a gap in current literature on
religion, politics and society, which tends to ignore or treat as
secondary the gendered dimensions of these developments. Toward this
end, the conference seeks to advance knowledge and understanding, and
to build a coherent research network, around the following core goals
to:
1) Move gender from the periphery to the centre of contemporary
debates about the role of religion in public and political life;
2) Stimulate new feminist and gender scholarship concerned with the
critical (re)interpretation of religions and gendered faith- based
practices across different religious traditions;
3) Foreground and apply an 'intersectional' lens to issues of
religion, gender and women's human rights, and bring into dialogue
feminist theorizing on gender and religion across global 'South' and
global 'North' perspectives;
4) Expand the horizon of gender-focused human rights analysis at the
nexus of religion, gender, citizenship and rights. The conference
will bring together senior and emerging scholars across a range of
relevant disciplines including, but not limited to, political science
and international relations, sociology, gender and women's studies,
human rights and socio- legal studies, development, anthropology,
European studies, and religious studies.

You are cordially invited to participate in the XIV International Bakhtin Conference.
The conference will be organized around various coordinated topic areas
1) The philological issue (the situation of Bakhtinian texts, with particular reference to the critical edition in seven volumes as yet unfinished;
2) Bakhtin philosopher and theorist (his contribution to philosophy, literary theory, religious thought, aesthetics, anthropology and contemporary human sciences);
3) Bakhtin and literary, cultural and anthropological history (corpuses, objects, languages, chronotopes).
There will also be special sessions on the Bakhtin Circle, religious thought, linguistic and mediological research, and musicology. However, papers and panel proposals on all aspects of the work of the Bakhtin Circle are welcome: genesis, influences, comparisons, reception, extensions, reformulations, exegesis, textology, translation, teaching, and in all spheres in which Bakhtinian thought is proving to be particularly productive.

Empowerment and the Sacred: An Inter-disciplinary Conference

Wisconsin)
Discussing international responses to the 'resurgence of religion'
in our time, Talal Asad has argued: 'If anything is agreed upon, it
is that a straightforward narrative of progress from the religious to
the secular is no longer acceptable' (Asad, 2006). In the
'straightforward narratives' of which Asad talks – and in
Enlightenment discourses of 'reason', 'progress' and 'modernity' more
generally - religion, spirituality and the sacred have customarily
been pitted against empowerment and emancipation, in political,
cultural and intellectual terms. At this present historical
juncture, then - when the secularist orientation of global futures is
increasingly being called into question - a vital need presents
itself for cross-cultural, cross-disciplinary debate about the role
that the sacred has, does and can play in our understanding of the
possibilities of personal and collective agency, power and change.
This conference will bring together scholars, professionals and
arts-practitioners to investigate the ways in which sacred traditions -
in diverse cultural and historical contexts - have shaped discourses,
practices and narratives of empowerment, emancipation, social change,
resistance and survival. We ask: How do different sacred discourses and
practices frame and/or extend the possibilities of agency - socially,
spiritually, imaginatively and corporeally? What variant conceptions
of the spheres of activity have they produced – whether temporal,
spatial, cultural, cosmic, public and/or private? And what role have
religious and spiritual traditions played in political discourses and
counter-discourses of class, gender, race, sexuality, cultural
identity, humanism and human rights? Where sacred traditions have
challenged the limits of secular reason, what alternatives have they
suggested for cognition, representation, and even rationality? And how
have they 'empowered' different artistic practices? Does the
'commitment to social justice' necessitate the 'translation' of sacred
realities into 'disenchanted histories', in order to maintain dialogue
with modern institutions (Dipesh Chakrabarty)? Or does a 'conception of
creativity in dialogue with the sacred' enable an interrogation of
'forbidden territories within ourselves' as well as 'the sacrosanct
territories of our institutions' (Wilson Harris)? Do sacred traditions
themselves provide the premises for imaginations of cross-cultural and
inter-faith community that differ from secular multiculturalism?
We welcome papers, especially from postgraduates and early career
researchers, that address issues of the sacred and empowerment inrelation
to topics which may include, but are by no means limited to:
Concepts of agency: God, gods, spirits and the divine;
thehuman/extra-human; identity and 'imagined communities';
actors,heroes/anti-heroes, role-models and leaders; somatic/spiritual
powers.
•Performances of power: artistic, cultural, political, ritual; protest and
activism; violence/non-violence.
•Histories and historiography: colonialism and the postcolonial;
globalization; materialism; memory.
•
Sacred texts and authority: interpretation, translation,intertextuality;
secular/religious criticism; freedom of speech, blasphemy, and taboo.
•
Place, space and environment: sacred sites and land rights; nature,
geography, topography, archaeology.
•
Difference and dialogue: orthodoxy/the unorthodox; syncretism, inter-faith
and cross-culturalism.
•
Justice and judgment: ethics, morality, legality;
sacred-secular/inter-faith arbitration.
•
Secular/sacred powers and the state: private/public spheres; policy-making
and pedagogy.
•
Re/conceptualizations: 'sacred', 'secular', 'post-secular', 'religion',
'magic', 'spirituality', 'myth' etc.
•
Action, motivation and practice: choice, desire, sacrifice and faith;
freedom/constraint.
•
Epistemologies and aesthetics: faith, rationalism and science;
representation and the unrepresentable.
Please submit 300 word abstracts, accompanied by a 100 word biography, for
